Trinity's Awards and Certificates in Musical Development, developed with Sounds of Intent, are fully inclusive, accredited music qualifications for learners with special educational needs, disabilities, or additional support needs (SEND).
Launched in 2022, they allow teachers to assess music-making progress through the Sounds of Intent framework, covering all abilities.
The awards are open to all learners, particularly those with learning difficulties across the full spectrum of needs.
Assessment is based on ongoing observation by teachers or music leaders within regular sessions, rather than traditional exams. Evidence is gathered through video footage or notes and competition of the E•A•X assessment scheme framework.
